This Week in the Workshop

At UR Mechanic, no two weeks look the same — and that’s exactly how we like it. This week was a solid reminder that proper diagnostics still separates specialist workshops from the parts-changer approach.

We worked through a mix of American trucks, European vehicles, and late-model passenger cars, with most jobs coming in with one thing in common: the fault wasn’t obvious.

Digging Into the Details

One of the standout jobs this week involved a converted American pickup that came in with intermittent warning lights and inconsistent steering feel. The vehicle had already seen multiple workshops, but the root cause hadn’t been confirmed.

We started with a full system scan using our OEM-level diagnostic platforms, followed by live data monitoring and targeted physical inspections. Rather than guessing, we worked methodically through the network and steering systems to isolate the issue.

The result? A confirmed fault in the steering system that could be properly rectified — not just masked.

That’s the difference a structured diagnostic process makes.
